FROM OUR KITCHEN, TO YOURS

Momofuku Sweet & Spicy Korean BBQ Sauce has been a workhorse in our restaurant kitchens over the past 20 years. We’ve used versions of this sauce on rice cakes, fried chicken, and other Momofuku classics. It’s core to our Momofuku pantry and we know it will become essential in yours.

KOREAN-AMERICAN ROOTS

Even before starting Momofuku, Dave Chang has been eating versions of this sauce his whole life. Our Korean BBQ Sauces are inspired by the sauces and flavors that Dave’s mom used in her cooking. Spicy gochujang, tart rice-wine vinegar, and savory soy sauce helped form the taste of Dave’s Korean-American upbringing, as well as the Momofuku pantry.

FULL FLAVOR, BUILT OVER TIME

In 2015, we launched Ssäm Sauce, our first “Korean BBQ sauce,” and our community's been asking us to bring it back for years. We’ve spent the time since tweaking and improving this sauce so it matches the restaurant-grade quality of our current pantry line. And we don't water anything down so that every squeeze is flavor-packed.
